How does this tahini, honey + strawberries on toast recipe taste?
This can hardly even be called a recipe, it’s so simple. But the combination is fantastic is you’re a fan of those mediterranean flavors like me. If you combine tahini with equal amounts of honey and some cinnamon, you get a creamy and caramel like paste that tastes so yummy on toast! Add some fresh summery + juicy strawberries and it’s a party in your mouth!
And if you love the famous combination of peanut butter + jelly, you’re going to love this grown up + highly nutritious mediterranean version of it!
In Greece, this is called ” tahinomelo”
Turns out, It’s not even an original idea of me to combine tahini with honey, because greek people have something similar for breakfast. They call it “tahinomelo” which literally means : honey tahini. And that’s exactly what it is. The combination of those two ingredients is simple, yet tastes divine. But I like to add a touch of cinnamon to it, which I think, makes it even better.

Simply start by combining equal amounts of tahini and honey together and add a pinch of cinnamon to create a creamy, caramel like paste that’s super yummy. Toast some slices of whole wheat bread and smear the tahini + honey paste on top. Then, add some sliced fresh strawberries on top + drizzle with some extra honey, if desired.

Ingredients
2 tsp tahini
2 tsp honey + extra to drizzle
1/4 tsp cinnamon
2 thick slices of whole wheat bread
hand full of sliced fresh strawberries
Directions
- Combine the tahini + honey together in a small bowl.
- Add the cinnamon and stir until a smooth paste.
- Slice the strawberries into thin slices and toast the bread.
- Smear the toast with the tahini + honey paste and garnish with the sliced strawberries.
- Drizzle the toast with some extra honey, if you like it to be sweeter.
- Enjoy!
